Barcode labeling for PWA's | 6 November, 1998

I need to expand my barcoding of PWA's. I'm currently using code 39 format. Is there a std format specified? Per IPC? Is the a format which handles more then one data item, i.e. part number, serial # and mfr's id #?

Is the a format which handles more then one data item, i.e. | part number, serial # and mfr's id #? | Code 128 gives you higher density, so you might be able to include the additional information without needing a larger label. I don't know of any standard, everyone seems to include the info that's important to him.
