Modification of Fuji machine

We currently using the Panasert SMT machine where PCB flow direction were from right to left, & we are planning to move in the FUJI -CP3 & CP4-2 in line where standard PCB flow direction were left to right. Any comment on FUJI machine modification of flow direction correspondence to Panasert right to left?

I am not familiar with either of the machines you are using but if it is not possible to to reverse the conveyor direction on either of them would it be possible for you to physically turn the Fuji through 180 degrees. Just a suggestion.

Daniel:

We have done it before at my previous employer. You have to have Fuji to do it for you and it is not cheap. The firmware need to be changed as well. That was a while ago but I think Fuji can still do it. You cannot simply reverse the conveyor because of the sensors and table configuration.

Any one who has done it will tell you it is not easy. It does require a conversion kit (aprox 5000 $) If your interested in the details call me and I'll go over the specifics. I suggest if you attempt it you should have a lot of experience with Fuji equipment. Consider a Fuji service engineer at 110 $ per hour might be worth it if your not familiar with the gear. (It's more standard anyways?) and put a 180� turning unit (with a y axis that moves the board to match the other fixed rail again). We did a similar job in an easy way, where the customer wanted to include a right to left oven after left to right placement machines. The oven was to be put at a 90� angle. We took a T-station and configured it this way, that the board gets turned the other direction and then travels out backwards towards the oven. Mail us if you need any board handling like this.

Also: If you want to reverse the line a shuttle would be an easy way! The board would always keep the same direction, it would just travel sidewards in the shuttle and travel back out down the second part of the line again.

Thinking about that 180� turn unit again: You wouldn't require the the y-movement. The fixed side gets turned over to the other side anyways.
