| FujiCam users | I am looking for any feedback concerning Fujicam. | User friendly? | Any Bugs? | Any input would be nice | Mike Mike, While I don't have any experience with Fujicam, I do have a lot of experience with PanaPRO from Panasert. These guys have better than 100 man years of development time into those products. This is because emulating a complex piece of prouction equipment is no trivial task. When you consider the less than stellar results Fuji got with their own F4G software, it is clear they have a huge challenge in this area. Further, just how quickly Unicam can penetrate a complex environment like Fuji, with all of it's political and cultural nuances is anyones guess. However, I got to believe that even if these people are supermen and it will take a very long time before a truely user friendly and accurate product is availble. Something to think about...

I am not familiar with panapro, can it be used to transmit programs to the placement machines, as well as keep track of machine performance and generate process documents???? I have used Fuji products (as well as Unicam) for a long time and have lots of confidence in them, It would take one hell of a software package to sway me away from them. Let Me know Mike

I understand they are releasing a new version that will support a Fuji CP-6 and a the Universal GSM's. If you are using those platforms then you should definitely check it out. If not, go buy a Panasert line. Your life will be greatly enhansed. Jim

But I know a lot of people who swear by Universal, Sanyo, and other fly by night outfits. These Fuji Machine I have are 10 years old, and I have less than .05% unscheduled down time on the line. With a 99.97% good placement rate, I have no reason to look at any other Manufacturers. Can Panasert say the same thing? How long will a Panasert be viable? I know there are Flashier, prettier machines around, but when the rubber hits the road the Fuji machine will run and run and run. I guess it comes down to... you like what you are used to, (assuming you are not a salesman but instead an actual user). I personally like Subaru products but then again they are made by Fuji also. My point is you may like Ford or Chevy and swear by them because they have been good to you well.... Fuji has been very very good to me Mike

Further, Fuji makes a fine system. However, I have one word for you and that is "flexibility". Panasert is every bit as reliable as you state for your Fuji's (See the discussion in this forum about Panasert MV's). Where they absolutly slay Fuji is in flexibility. I'm not going to go into some big disertation as to how many ways this is so. At one point in time you were introduced to Fuji and have had a positive experience. You may want to lift your horizon a bit and check out the Panasert stuff. Then again you might be blind to the possibilities and only you can know if that is so. Take Care... Jim

Hay Jim Don't get personal, I don't have time to go to the bathroom much less lift my horizons (or do you mean broaden). Anyway if it makes you feel better, next time I am going to purchase new equipment I will consider Panasert in the eval. I have not found any negative feedback on panasert in this forum and that's a good sign. If there are any Panasert reps reading this, feel free to email me, and dazzle me with your Panasert stuff. Regards Mike C
