I am looking for training for SMT process. | 17 February, 1998

I am looking for more training on the latest in smt process. Prefer Seatle area, or correspondance. I've worked in SMT for 2 years, and have had to do work that would normally be done by a SMT Process Engineer. I would like to be on the cutting edge in electronic manufacturing. If anyone has information, Thank You, in advance.

Good morning Larry, SMT-ASSY offers training for PTH and SMT soldering and rework, moreover we also offer training such as the SMT process (using production equipment such Vitronics oven etc.), Design for manufacturing, Design guidelines and other blends of custom training such as delicated training for Hakko products. Where is SMT-ASSY? Well it is not in Seatle. SMT-ASSY is located in Dorval (Close to Montreal), 5 minutes away from Dorval's airport. Within a two milles radius there are 4 hotels ranging from the Holiday Inn to the Quality Suites which can accommodate customers. Also there are some 30 to 40 restaurants from fast food to gourmet cuisine. Our facility in about 2800 square feet which include two offices and two training areas. What are the equipment? SMT-ASSY is setup to accommodate 6 trainees per week. All benches include the usual, irons, pumps, magnifying light etc. We also have a manual stencil printer, a 5 zones convection oven, a mini wave and a microscope. We believe that we offer a good training alternatives for potential American customers. Benefiting from the exchange rate and the low cost of the accommodations, the potential customer can also experience Montreal's night life such as the Casino, Old Montreal etc... plus get hands on training blended with theory while using real production type equipment. In hopes that all this information will give you an idea of what is SMT-ASSY all about and help our possible association, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments. Attached we have included our brochure. Sincerely,

The type of training I am looking for is things like micro BGA, flipchip, COB, new processes and techniques, ect. I already work with things like fine pitch QFP's, high mix double reflowed boards every day. I live in Vancouver, but I can drive to Seatle for each day of training. Thanks for the input. When our company expands, and our training budget is larger, it would be easier for us to use your services. Larry
