Hmmm....

We use our placement data from our placement machines. Gives us nuber of placements, yield of good placements and a ton of other stuff that makes our QC peoples eyes get very very big! We use Panasonic equipment ond utilize the Pana-Pro software to get real time data. That coupled with a couple of MPMs with 2-D and 3-D SPC data, I can really make this stuff look complicated!

Dear Hussman

We use automatic machines on mounting PHILIPS and though quality and velocity of their mounting are very good, the girls occupied with quality control can not on 100 % to check quality of the soldering FLIP CHIP and BGA!!!

Hello Everyone,

For QC purposes, there are a couple of methods to both qaulitatively and quantitatively inspect your manufacturing process.

For Paste inspcetion, an inline machine like the SE300 by CyberOptics may be appropriate. You may also incorporate inspection on the Screenprinters themselves as this is an option that can be found on the MPM screenprinters.

You can also implement Automated On-Line Inspection(AOI)by incorporating component placement inspection both prior to reflow (CyberOptics provides the KS-50) and as a post reflow inspection method (CyberOptics provides the KS-100).

You may find yourself needing to utilize X-ray inspection, typically off-line for qualitative analysis of BGA's, etc. Genrad-Nicolet is the largest provider for these systems.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
