This book, as well as many others on soldering, is available from the SMTA. It can be purchased on-line at http://www.smta.org. Click on Bookstore. Jesse in our office (952-920-7682) can also answer specific questions you may have.

I own and have read this book. While it is better than the average soldering book, it is not the first book that I reach for in trying to sort through a problem. It introduces a broad range of soldering methods with a reasonable amount of detail, but uses confusing jargon and includes a couple poorly thought-out tables.

Previously, we have taked about preferred books on SMTnet. Search the Forum Archives for those discussions. Each month, the SMTnet Newsletter publishes book reviews. Check back issues.

If the building was on fire, on the way out the door I'd grab: * My wife's picture * Wassink "Soldering In Eletronics" 2e Electrochemical Publications 1989 ISBN 090115024X * Coombs "Printed Circuits Handbook" 5e McGraw-Hill 2001 ISBN 0071350160
