Placement Cost per component categories

Are all components calculated at the same cost when calculating cost per placement? Are they categorised according to their sizes / dimensions as per machine placement speed or are they also categorised as per component technology? Can anyone give me examples on how to calculate them and categorise them for Contract Manufacturing Service Calculation?
