Before I waste a lot of time and parts..... Will the Fuji CP3 place a melf diode without a special nozzle? If so, what size would you reccomend for best accuracy?

For me it was the 1.0mm nozzle, if we're talking mini-MELF here. Also, slowing the turret speed helps. Had mine at 30%. Results vary if placing on paste vs. glue. Paste is better. Still, the std. 1.0mm nozzle is where near as good as with the MELF nozzle. Also, if I didn't have too many on the board and time available on the IP2, I'd move them to the IP2. IP does them very well.

Thanks, I'll try the 1mm first. So there IS a MELF nozzle? Iwould try the IP2 but they came on a big reel and I have no feeders for that.

Yeah, there's a MELF nozzle. Check with Fuji or one of the many after-market guys, mostly Asian suppliers. Big reel, no big deal, unravel it and reload in 7" reels.

Hi Check SMT Research, they have nozzles for cp3, 4,6,7 melf custom, Special etc..(805) 587-7851 Just buy the disk, the body is the same and change the nozzle size on (proper) mcs16 or 30
