We have an Ekra E5 that uses what looks like standard auto valve stems to dispense the cleaning fluid. They leak.. Are they just standard schrader valves or are special to withstand the chemistry of stencil cleaner?

I'm not sure what you mean by "standard auto valve stem". Ours use EFD pumps to dispense fluid. I think there used to be a sort of a drip system that attempted to wet the entire length of the paper all at once but have never seen one.

Which system do you use? Where is it leaking? What is your cleaning solvent? Have you talked to Mike? Is your EFD manual printed in German like mine?

Yes this is 1st generation, a large metal tube positioned horiz. with valves to wet the wiping towel all at once. We have the newer sys. on the other Ekra, motor driven gear rack and selonoid dispenser.I talked w/ their tech. and got "Oh yea,,they all leak", never got a real answer.

Bummer. Are you using the EPAC stuff that they recommend, or something else? We used IPA for a while, then changed to a run-of-the-mill stencil cleaning solvent (aliphatic hydrocarbon based, like the EPAC solvent) that's a lot cheaper and does the job just as well.

Is it attacking the valve seals or something? I guess if they say they all leak you know whey they changed the system. Doesn't solve your sticky problem though. Still, you'd think you could get seals that would resist the chemistry.
