Is there anyone still using Quad machines? I know Tyco Electronics purchased them a while back. Does Tyco still build and sell the platform? If so, hows support for the original Quad machines?

You can still get support. I was in that deal before Tyco decided they didn't need Multitronics field engineers playing with Quads. Anyway, most of the original Quad personnel are stil running service. Based by region, in the West or Central US, call Russell Bartley at (512) 733-1971. In the Eastern US, call Ed Conson at (813) 645-7694. These are the service managers for their respective areas. For questions about service, spare parts, or service contracts, call Donna at (215) 657-6202 ext. 4556. Some things you will need when you call are machine type (IIC, IVC, QSV, QSP-2, APS, QSA, etc...) and serial number(s). and if you're not on their registered machine list, some serious cash if you want support.

Support is ok but parts could be a problem...If you are buying an older machine you have to be careful because you may not be able to get parts.Tyco is still selling machines new and/or refurbed but there are lots of deals to be made elsewhere (used equipment brokers). It will cost you for support (unless that is you know some former service guys or you are one yourself...haha). By the way...I love the machines. We have a couple of C'series that are Great.

Good luck!!

QSA series was a joint project, but Quad machines still use feeders made by Samsung, or Samsung makes the feeders Quad designed (whatever). QSoft has two different evolutions, Qsoft(1) went to Samsung, and Qsoft(2) stayed with Quad. I'm sure they have made changes since the original split in information sharing. Now Quad is NO MORE. It is Tyco Automation Group. They just haven't come up with any more new machines to replace their Quad holdings (as well as others), so they continue to service Quad machines. Its pretty much the same company anyway...no hard feelings guys!
