After you get your prices, list the stuff here and get some performance, rather than price feedback on what you are looking to buy. Consider what you need to place and make sure the equipment matches it. If your doing 16mil T-Sops you wont be happy with most low end equipment and would be better off spending the money now, if your doing chips only you dont want to pay to much.

Hi Tony,

Are you looking for new or pre-owned equipment? And are you doing any BGA and CSP work? This will be important in deciding some of the equipment that you will need.

Tony, Be very careful with used equipment dealers. Make suer they have a comprehensive remanufacturing plan for the equipment, that it is calibrated the same as it would be from the OEM, and that the staff that will install and maintain it are familar with that specific brand of equipment. Having been burnt in the past by some of them (including some mentioned in the replies here) I cannot stress the importance of making sure the above is followed and ensured. There is nothing worse than getting a piece of equipment, finding out that it has a problem, and that the vendor is unable and/or unwilling to correct it. A used piece of equipment can end up costing far more than the initial price, especially when your depending on it for your production.

I am not saying you should not get used equipment, just make sure the vendor is capable of supporting what you buy after delivery, and that it will meet or exceed OEM specs.
