What are diffrerences between DEK 248 and MPM Microflex? We are thinking about off-line screen printer with vision and wiper. When i compare specification MPM has better accurancy 12,5um and DEK 248 25um so one point for MPM. MPM is a new construction 2003 and DEK 248 ?? start production year???. Other features are very similar. Which screen printer has better vision quality and flexibility. (for fine pitch 0.4, 0402 chip, double side assembly boards)?. Where in your opinion are weak points MPM Microflex and DEK 248?

Best recommendation is to compare the two machines with your boards and stencils. Either vendor should be able to arrange for a �test drive� at one of their demonstration facilities or at a local friendly customer. I�m afraid that your request for �opinions� will be just that, opinions. What works well for one application may not for yours. There are a lot of DEK and MPM people out there that have strong opinions. Both are good machines from good companies. Its like Ford and GM people, one likes theirs and hates the other. Here are some points to compare: Ease of programming � Operator interface Board holding table- how easy to manipulate and fixture board Stencil loading/unloading Vision System- ease of setup, camera positioning for fine features and alignment Construction- which looks more beafy, durable

You might like to also include the R29-V which is a step up from both the Dek 248 and Microflex but at a similar price. 29" frame size ( multi-purpose adp available ) Bespoke software windows based, Incredibly easy to operate. Similar tooling to that of the MPM and Dek, Great vision system with digital zoom and various alignment options as standard. Wet dry and vacuum usc, Automatic stencil load/unload and built like a brick......

The MicroFlex is not really new. Its the UltraPrint 100 re-engineered and improved. UltraPrint 100 / SMTech 100 has been around for many years. I don't believe the DEK 248 offers a Stencil Wiper option. I worked on MicroFlex machines. Vision system is capable of resolving features on a wide range of boards with dark and light solderpmask as well as on ceramic substrates. They are capable of 16mil (0.4mm) fine-pitch and likely below, but I have never tried less than 16mil. Alignment repeatability is +/- 0.005" (0.13mm). Effective fine pitch printing has a lot to do with proper board and stencil design, stencil maintenance, proper solderpaste storage and handling. What else would you like to know?

Debi, Both machines are good and will do a great job for you on Rigid as well flex circuits.Every Mfr.will come to your site and give you a piece of equipment on loan to try for a month hoping you'll buy from them.Why don't you arrange that little experiment and you'll be able to get first hand experience w both regardless of anyone's opinion. I worked w both machines you mentioned and the latest two I bought were Ekras. I think is a better value. At the latest Apex show I've seen a piece of equipment "Mylara" that I would definitely consider if I would be in the market for a printer.I think they received an award for it too.It has everything you mentioned as being important to you and more.The price I thought was great too.Anyhow just a thought. Hi Debi, I have worked with both these printers in the past. Had some problems with the DEK. Take it for what it is worth but the MPM seemed more dependable than the DEK.

I have used both the MPM and DEK. The MPM's look nicer and have a few fancy features but the DEK printed more consistent time and time again. I believe you spend a lot more money for MPM's when DEK will give you what you need.
