Depends how much money you have in your budget. You have to break down your assembly into the different components and figure out what can be done by machine and what can't. Then search for machine that can do the jobs. There are consultant firms that can do that for you. Search for industrial consultant.

Try getting a small contract manufacturer who will build the boards for you initialy

that way you can learn untill you establish the process

once you do that you can have a fair idea of what machines to buy ? where to buy ?

or maybe if the volumes are good you might be even able to get the CEM do it for you

Hi, It depends of your boards(are they for SMD or not) and how many boards you assemble. The process at all is like that: 1.Stencil printer - to adjust the paste 2. Pick and place machine(for your quantity) 3.Reflow oven Theese are the machines you have to buy. How many boards you think you will assemble monthly? If 1 million or less you can buy machine wich place 3000-6000 components per hour.It could be even second hand, but I don't recomend you such machine, becouse you are new in the field and you will need you support and warranty. The printer and the reflow you could buy more simple(if you don't use very precise or very small components 0201 or LLGA ...). If you place much more than 1 million ...you will know what to do.Make a research on the market. Advice with firms. Ask everybody. If you have more questions call me. good luck!

This all the things depends upon your requirement.

Can you please answer the following things 1.How may components in one board. 2.How many types of components also tell the packages also if you know. 3.What quantity per month/Year you want to produce. 4.Are you planning to change some more models into SMT or in near future if you are going to launch some more types of boards in SMT. If you have the detail then the answer will more clear to you.If you wat some more crarification on SMT then mail on

I can help you, if define what type of components you used: Thru hole(axial, radial, pin insertion etc..) axial: milimetrics or standar(span of .200" or .350" ) radial 2.5mm , 5mm or 7.5 mm SMT (chip shooter(1206,0805,0603 ,sot 23 etc or more small ) or fine pitch IC's, BGA etc)? your board required double reflow or aplication of glue in bottom ? Your board design is ready for automatic process?
