Affect of Moisture on Assembled PCBs

What affect does moisture have on sensitive components on a board as it waits for thru-hole assembly? Suppose I run a batch of boards today and the assembly dept won't be able to get to it til maybe a month from now, is it okay to just let the boards sit?

I ask because as my company grows and production increases, I'd like to tell management to either invest in more personnel to move the boards through the line or a climate controlled storage area.

Thanks, Rob

Wave Solder temperature should not cause problem to MSDs. Just in case on PBA there are very critical MSLs (ie. 5 or 5a, 6 (?!?) try to detect what is the max temperature on such MSD bodies and how long they stay under such temperature. But it schould not be a dangerous temperature level.

Standard J-STD-033a can tell you more.
