My snmall company out-sources all of it's SMT assemblies. We do through work and have dome rework experience with SMT. All of our assemblies are built to "IPC610 Class II". We currently have no one trained to inspect to this standard. What is a practical/cost effective way to train our personell to inspect to this standard, so that we can communicate more effectively with our SMT assembly suppliers?

Depending where you are located there may be a training center near your factory. You could have someone visit you on site or you can send someone for training and they can come back to teach others how to inspect. Where are you located??

Consider: * Looking at: http://training.ipc.org/

* Searching with 'google' on 'ipc 610 training' * Having your suppliers train your inspectors, by including your people in the suppliers' on-going training and certification of their staff
