Chipmounter Placement Speed | 7 September, 2004

I would like to know what are the achievable chip placement per hour for the following chipmounter models. 1. Siemens HS50 (Spec at 50,000 chips per hour) 2. Siemens Siplace S20 3. Fuji CP 642 4. Sanyo TCM1050 5. Universal HSP4975(re-badge of TCM3000)

For example, using 30,000 chips per hour for HS50 too low for capacity planning purpose ?

I can only speak for the Fuji, but it is quite possible to get the maximum placement as long as you set the feeders and cut out some of the programming options that slow the machine. But then you may have a line-balancing issue, i know i did.

The Siemens placement equipment has a simple coding structure: HS50 - 50,000 CPH S20 - 20,000 CPH S23 - 23,000 CPH S27 - 27,000 CPH Well... you get the idea. I have no idea about the speed of the 'F' machines. We get around 70-80% of this figure. With a Siemens test board, the above speeds are achievable. We also have an old Fuji line with a Fuji CP4 rated at around 24,000 CPH, but we rarely get more than 12-15,000 out of it. I have no experience in any of the other machines.

Hi Jon, Thanks for your reply. Age of the machine does play a part too. So, at 60%, there is still 10~20% improvement opportunity for the Siemens machines.

Tact time is not affected by the age of a machine. Placement accuracy and throughput..yes....but not the speed.
