40 CFR 372 - Under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning & Coomunity Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA) of 1986, the US EPA is proposing a reduction in the reporting limits for lead and lead compounds from the current limits of 10,000 pounds to 10 pounds. The EPCRA and the Pollution Prevention Act (PPA) of 1990 provided for the creation of a list of chemical compounds call the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI). Under the TRI, commercial and industrial users of the listed toxic chemicals are required to notify in writing the general public and the EPA of the use or release of certain levels of chemicals listed.
