Low cost Thermocouples | 28 September, 2004

Hi,

We are running a SlimKIC, and it's great, but the thermocouples are expensive, and we want to leave them on each product, and not reuse them, as it's faster to profile.

Is there any third party sources of thermocouples?

Regards,

Grant

Nothing to say that you can't purchase thermocouple wire and spot weld it in the machine shop at your local high school.

Hi,

We can get them for around $430 per pack of 9, and is that good? It seems a little high, and that's why I wondered if there were other options.

This is what I use: http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/5TC.pdf or http://www.omega.com/Temperature/pdf/5LSC_5SRTC.pdf

The 36 and 40 AWG sizes are ideal (TT insulation.) $430 for 9 thermocouples seems real high.
