Cleanliness Testing Samples - What to Use?

We are trying to deploy an Ionograph cleanliness tester and wanted to know what others are using as a standard test sample. My desire is to run the test on a weekly basis using the same medium complexity assembly. We plan to use the testing as a process monitoring tool. To do this we need the test parameters to be the same each time we test.

Because we are a CM, we rarely run the same assembly weekly or even monthly. Any input appreciated.

We know SIR coupons are not ROSE coupons, but coupon boards are: * IPC-B-24 (copper and HASL, FR-4 and polyimide) * IPC-B-36 (bare copper and HASL, FR-4 and polyimide) * IPC Phoenix board (bare copper, FR-4) * IPC-B-25A (FR-4, bare copper only)

Since you are using an Ionograph you need to use IPC-TM-650 method 2.3.25, static method. The test method is free on the IPC website.

You'll need to get your customer to give you an acceptable cleanliness level to test to.
