Q1 Can anyone explain to me what is the clean and non clean solder? A1 The trend away from CFCs has lead many users to evaluate switching to no-clean soldering processes. The term "no-clean" is actually a common misnomer when used to describe a flux or solder. Technically speaking, "no-clean" actually refers to a process, not a flux. The flux residues and contamination on boards and parts are fairly benign, if applied / used properly. So-called "no-clean" fluxes should more accurately be termed "low solids" fluxes.

Q2 What is the standard solder paste height spec for stencils 4mils, 5mils and 6mils? A2 There is no standard solder paste specification. J-STD-001 defines the amount of solder for a proper connection. The assembler determines the proper amount of paste necessary to meet that requirement.

Q3 What is the meaning for RoHS? A3 Look here: http://www.smtnet.com/forums/Index.cfm?CFApp=1&Message_ID=32330
