SPM AV Different Problem | 8 June, 2005

Ok here I go again. I got rid of the last problem but now I am back to a different problem. When the machine sits and I press Reset, the screen reads Starting the Z-axis Homing the Programmable squeeges and just stays there and does nothing. So I E-stop turn it back on and then reset it and it is fine. but then when I run boards after so long the back squeegee stays down and the front one stays up. I then have to turn the machine off again and reset and then it is fine for a little longer. If any one could help it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It sounds to me like it may be your squeegee Z motion controller card. The SQUEEGEE Z motion controller card is interchangeable with some of the other motion cards in the back of the machine.(NOT ALL OF THEM) Make sure you look at the power ratings and dip switch settings before you swap them. If the problem follows the card to the axis you swapped it with then you found your problem.

Also, you can go into the IO and make sure that the squeegee limit sensor is functioning properly by manually flagging it.

If all that fails then maybe try a new SQ-Z motor.

Good Luck

It does not do this all the time, just when it is sitting for about 10 minutes or so. I will give that a try though.

Where are these located at in the back of the machine.

If you are facing the back of the machine take left most panel off. There are usually two fans built into this panel.(unplug the fan connector and set cover aside) The servo-driver cards will all be in a row. They should be labeled accordingly.

I found them and swapped the first 2 and set the dip switches. I will leave the machine sit for awhile and see what happens. It reset ok, but time will have to tell. Thanks again
