Did you know that if you break a tool shaft on your Hydra 2D head, you need to replace the entire Hydra head ?

I am not sure that the numbers I posted earlier were 100% correct. That is why I removed that part.

If you are interested in exact pricing, call Mydata.

I was just surprised that when you break a shaft, the entire head needs replaced.

i find it hard to believe that you cant get another shaft and replace it. I am sure they will always say not to do it...like every other company....but if you know the machine and if you know how to calibrate it.....I cant see a reason to not give it a go!

The shaft is not an off the shelf standard part. It is custom.

My next step is build my own shaft from scratch. If I figure it out I will sell Hydra repair kits for 9000.00 ea. = /

I saw a Mydata demo and it seems like it would be pretty easy to pull a magazine back a few inches then tip it up into the head. I assume this would cause catastrophic damage. I was told this has never happened in North America. Which means it must have happened somewhere. This seems like a major design defect.

Could you not second source a shaft on an old junk machine from one of these companies that sell used equipment?? Probably a pain in the $@#$%^ though. Good luck...one way or the other it sounds to me like your going to get the shaft....haha...

Hi,

I think there are two models of HYDRA, and is it for both? We exchanged the MY9 we had for a MY12, and they said it had a newer model of HYDRA that was easer to align, and maintain, and I wonder if that was part of it, or if this is still an issue.

Did you get told that by MYDATA? Did you get a quote on a changeover head?
