Can anyone tell me what he overall height of a CP6 board support/backup pin is supposed to be?

They don't sell the back up pins as an assembly. It looks like you have to buy them piece by piece and set the height yourself.

Thanks

do you mean the board support pins? generally anytime i've set these up i've just set the height as i've went, i put the pin under the board, with the board clamped, and move it up until it touches the board and set it there. you just need to make sure that the board clamps flat, this will work fine down to 0603. i've also seen people using a top plate to hold the board down when placing smaller parts, you need to make these yourself but you screw it down into the rails at the loading position and between this and the support pins your board is held flat.

The height varies with board thickness. The top of the board is always held at the same height so as the board thickness increases the pin height decreases.
