PCB Plating Thickness Meter??? | 30 August, 2005

Does any one knows where to get a plating thickness meter that can be use in the fine pitch contacts and trace in PCB application like BGA pads? If there's a hand held device at lower cost much better... Also if you can recommend companies that offer services in PCB plating thickness measurement. Thanks...

i looked at hand held XRFs for a similar application, but the smallest surface i could find one sampled was about 3mm diamiter and there about �30k but a few companies will lend you one dor trials, would tell you the plating thickness and metalic elements, you could try asking a plating house what they use?
