It will be shown at Productronica, Munchen Germany. I nag on my boss to go there, of course not only for this but it sure looks interesting. But You know; "the company must save money answer" which in my meaning sometimes could be more expensive... Sincerly,

Yes....interesting. Word is this better be successful for them or they are done.

At first glance my issue would be what impact do solder paste "dots" have in the following areas compared to stenciled paste:

1) Controllable with regards to volume 2) Sufficient for component tact 3) Totally screw up pick and place component placement pressure and heights 4) The added expense of buying solder paste cartridges

I like the idea but it looks like a major process change all the way down the line to me.

Absolutely right and furtermore, when does one have a glance of the future whith all spectrum of its perfomance; without looking in the past? Maybe You will catch me, despite my english gramma (or maybe totally un-understood). We have seen this before: W95, etc. etc. etc. Sincerly :-)

Just remember....people and companies get stuck in their own way of thinking. Ok...so you don't need stencils with this machine. That's a plus I'm sure. The tradeoff is specilized paste cartridges so that saving will be offset somewhat. Speed is the other factor.....but is that REALLY as important as it once was? In a high volume plant where every second counts of course it is. To the majority though....I don't think so. If it was that big a deal companies would never buy Mydata pick and place machines now would they? I wish them all the best as I like the idea but for it to be a success it better not impact the other processes too much.
