Mike-

This is sort of how it goes with Zevatech/Juki.

710-chipshooter, 720-Flex mounter 730-chipshooter, 740- Flex mounter 750- chipshooter, 760- Flex mounter (at about this time, Juki took over).

So yes....the 730 is compatable with either the 740 or 760 as the 730 is a complimentary piece to either one. I'm not sure of the difference between a 740 and a 760 although someone will almost certainly chime in with that knowledge.

The 740 and 760 basically have the same specs as far as component ranges: 0402-50mm components. The 760 is a bit more accurate and the vision system is better. The 740 was designed when BGA weren't really around and so it can barely vision center basic BGAs. It will not vision center microBGA, but you can laser center them off of the substrate (body).

The 760 you can program a lot more custom patterns and it all inspect all the balls in the pattern. You can even buy an optional vision camera that is designed to do most microBGA.

The 760 you can program upto a 150mm long connector. The 740 is limited to 50mm.

Zevatech was simply selling Juki machines under the Zevatech name. So they were always Juki machines.

To answer your compatibity question.

I am assuming you have a 730 already...

The 760 can always open the 730 files, but depending on the software verion on the 730 the 730 may not be able to open the 740/760 files.

If your 730 has version 5 or higher, then it should open the 760 files. If the 730 has version 4 software, then it may not open the 760 file.

This also means that if you decide to get the 740, then the 730 and 740 need to have the same rev software.

Frank- I don't believe your statement regarding Zevatech always being a Juki platform is correct. I can remember Zevatech selling SMT equipment 25 years ago and they sure as hell didn't come from Japan then......

Yes Rick, you are correct, Zevatech HBA, PPM7 & PPM9 were all designed and built by Swiss. That was a long long time ago.

Sorry, I guess I forgot about those old beasts. Then don't forget about the good old CATs and Microns made by Zevatech AMTI (before ESEC bought Zevatech).

The ASM 800 and ASM 810s were Juki machines with those awful electrical feeders designed and built by the Swiss.

All the Placemats 360/460/560/570 and KE-series (including FS/FM-series) are all Japanese Juki machines. The Placemat 575 was a Zevatech invention built from a 570 and Juki did start building them right before they were put to rest.

You are very kind and helpfull.

Do you know if Juki still support 700 series with hardware/software? We have bought two pieces of FS730(1997)from big German company. They are said to be in good working condition but you never know, handling in transport ..etc. I am expecting answer regarding support from Switzerland? Will see PeteC. USA is bigger market, better support for sure.
