crystal mounting with foam tape | 28 February, 2000

I need to side mount a standard HC-49/U crystal on a board using double sided foam tape. I am looking for a source for pre-cut foam tape. In prototype runs I have used 3M #4950 foam tape cut to size one at a time. But for production I want it pre-cut or kiss cut on a sheet or roll. I could have it custom made but would be easier if it was available off the shelf. All of the pre-cut sizes I have found are too large (McMaster-Carr). I need ones about 0.25 X .0375 X 0.050 thick. Does anyone have a source? Thanks in advance.

Eldon: From you description, I think 3M makes the stuff you�re talking about. They can give you a source to kiss-cut it to your requirements. Good luck. Dave F

Thanks Dave for your reply. I have found a supplier that can cut it, but I am trying to save the tooling cost and the minimum purchase dollar ammount imposed by the supplier. If an off the shelf item existed I could buy what I wanted when I wanted.
