SOT-23's Stencil Geometry | 6 October, 1999

Hopefully, everybody suffers from solderability of SOT-23 devices and I would like to know how everybody else resolves this problem. Historically, here, we have always gone for 6 thou stencils. I found that going to an 8 thou stencil improved the situation drastically. I am also going to trial some SC59 packaged devices (meatier Japanese SOT-23 equivalents). Secondly, how much aperture reduction do people go for to achieve optimum results ? 2 thou overall ? 20% ?

Regards & thanks for popping by,

Chris.
