Farewell and thanks to all | 7 September, 1999

Last Thursday I resigned from my position as manager of SMTnet. I want to personally thank all SMTnet viewers, editors, customers, colleagues, and others for your support to me in the creation and expansion of SMTnet over the last four years. I enjoyed the virtual relationship with all of you. There would not be today's SMTnet without the enthusiasm and contribution from you.

Peter Garsoe, owner of SMTnet, is taking over the manager's position. I want to thank Peter for the opportunity to work with him to create SMTnet. His insight and guidance was an integral part of the SMTnet site. I wish him and SMTnet continued success.

My understanding is that my official email with SMTnet, cjia@smtnet.com, will stop functioning shortly. If you need to reach Peter or others at SMTnet, info@smtnet.com is always a good place to start. If you want to reach me personally, my private address is cjia@maine.rr.com.

I am still exploring what to do next. If any of you know any internet/marketing/management related career opportunities, please feel free to email me at cjia@maine.rr.com.

Thank you again.

All of us at SMTnet wish Cunli a good journey. He has been both a good coworker and friend and we will miss him. Cunli has been with us for five years and his decision to leave is both a professional and personal loss. The struggle to build SMTnet has been very difficult and were it not for Cunli's commitment, it would not have happened.

Wayne,Roland,Keith,Mike, cliff,Neil,Chris,Barbara, Joanne and I salute you. Thanks for your contribution to the SMTnet community.

Being quite new on this forum I dont know much about history and persons behind the scene but the appearance of this site and the contents seem suprisingly good to me and so I like to thankyou one of the persons for a great job. Wished we had something similar over here, ah...what do I say, better to have this look over the wall, the problems seem to be the same everywhere.

Best wishes for a great future from Germany Wolfgang

Good luck with all your challenges to come, and if your ever in Scotland look me up and I'll treat you to a few drinks.

Cunli,

Earl has stolen some of my thunder once again.

I would like to add that you have definitely made a presence in today's Electronics manufacturing environment. The up and coming engineers involved in this forum get to share years of knowledge and expertise because of your personal efforts. Your legacy will live on, and we all know just how very small this industry really is.

We will see you again. And soon.

Thank you for your efforts, Cunli. I sincerely have appreciated working with you. Some day we shall meet in person. I shall buy you a malted beverage. We shall converse.

Best of luck in whatever endeavor you undertake. You will be successful.

Onward, Cunli.
