does anyone know of a book that contains the measurements of most of the surface mount components used today.is there a library that can tell me x,y,z,lead length and width and foot length.lead pitch.ect.dummy component catalogs only go so far.

Scott, You should be able to get all info needed from IPC and individual part vendors. It's just time comsuming to put all the info together. If you leave me your contact information I will send you some info.

Hi;

I think what you're looking for is something called "The cook book".The reason that call it that way is b'cos it contains all the needed information and example on how a particular component function in a circuitry.This book contains specification dimention x,y,z ,thermal data , electrical performance + etc.

The info you're looking for are normally supplied at the back pages of this "cook book".

Yes your component vendor would be glad to supply you one.
