Good day,

Is there on the market any machine independent barcode reading system? We have some placement machines with build-in barcode reading system. When operator changes the reel with components he/she checks reel with barcode scanner. Some of the placement machines do not have build-in barcode reading system, therefore there is a possibility that operator will install wrong reel. So we need machine independent barcode scanner. Can anyone give a link to such solution? Thank you.

We we're quoted around 350 Euro's for one of these - a Datalogic TC1100-1100, incluiding software & manuals.

We were going to mount it on an AOI system, but never got around to it.
