Location:

Description:

This year, IPC was successful in persuading Congress to include a provision in the Fiscal 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) directing the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to assess the defense electronics industrial base. This provision, Section 845, requires DoD to submit its assessment to Congress no later than January 31, 2019.

IPC is now focused on ensuring that the diverse segments of the industry have an opportunity to discuss their concerns about the defense electronics industrial base with each other and share their views with DoD before completion of this assessment. To this end, IPC is hosting this FREE industry workshop on October 19 in Bannockburn, Illinois. Representatives from DoD will be in attendance.

Our focus will be on exploring the challenges and opportunities facing these key segments of the industry:

  • Assembly/EMS
  • Printed Circuit Board
  • Connectors
  • Cable
  • Passive Parts

These segments are critical to the electronics supply chain, and yet, policymakers know very little about their concerns relative to the defense industrial base. This is your opportunity to help shape the scope and outcome of the DoD’s defense electronics assessment to Congress.
