Great Lakes Chapter Technical Webinar: "Low Melting Alloy and the Selection of the Right Chemistry for Reliability" Observations from the Testing and Implementing of Low Melting Point Alloy in the Selective Soldering Production Process. This presentation will discuss the main influences driving companies to investigate using the newer Lead Free Low Melting Point Alloys as part of their production process. It will also discuss the most noted Expected vs Actual benefits found when comparing the Low Melting Point results to the current use of the more traditional Lead Free and Tin Lead alloys. Agenda:
Speaker Info: About Denis Jean Denis is a Process Specialist with Kurtz Ersa providing technology support for soldering application. Denis has over 35 years of experience of supporting both domestic and foreign OEM’s and EMS companies in product design, soldering material development, process and assembly/rework equipment development for surface mount and through-hole soldered assemblies. Denis has authored, instructed and presented frequently on topics including through hole soldering (wave/selective), SMT assembly, DFM/DFX and rework. He has received 2 patents for his work with polymer thick film technology. He was serving on the SMTA-I technical committee for several years. About Joe Clure Joseph Clure is currently the Head of Applications and Demo Center at KurtzERSA Inc. and is located at the company’s North American Head Quarters in Plymouth, Wisconsin. He has worked for KurtzERSA Inc. for over 15 years. Prior to his time at KurtzERSA Inc. he was employed at Plexus Corp in Neenah, Wisconsin for 5 years where his titles included Site Process Engineer and Regional Subject Matter Expert for Selective Soldering. In addition to the many years of Soldering Industry experience working in Production environments and Applications Center Projects, he also holds Degrees from Universities in New York and Wisconsin along with being a graduate of the United States Navy’s Nuclear Power Program.
