R & D Project Manager

Alpha, a world leader in the development, manufacturing, and sales of innovative materials used in the assembly electronics, industrial joining and Photo Voltaic market places, is seeking a R & D Project Manager for their South Plainfield, NJ global headquarters. 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this position is to monitor day-to-day execution and on-time delivery of a significant number of new product development (NPD) projects typically underway at the Alpha Research Center.  The Project Manager will also be responsible for planning, tracking and execution of the projects per Alpha New Product Development Protocols.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a Project Manager for Alpha Research Center Projects
• Assist in the planning, organizing, directing and tracking key projects/programs, project schedules, new product scale-up and global implementation
• Plan, coordinate, schedule and manage the actions taken by global and local Project Teams
• Assist in the planning and coordination of lab upgrades and modifications
• Work closely with Project Managers at other R&D Centers
• Review ongoing work to ensure that customer’s requirements are captured, defined and satisfied on-time
• Track actions by the Program/Project Teams to define and implement technical baselines
• Ensure high quality techniques are used for Program/ Project products and services.
• Manage the R&D Programs/Projects and overall mission as specified by the R&D team

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a BS degree in an engineering or science discipline.  Master’s degree desired but not  necessary
• Minimum three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of MS Project, MS Visio, and Minitab desirable. 
• Experience in the electronic assembling industry a plus.
