Job Opportunity: Process Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Job Location: Brooksville, FL

Hours/Days of Position: 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts, Friday/Saturday as needed


At Spartronics, the Senior Process Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert for all Electronic Assembly processes. Responsible for the development and support of the electronic manufacturing processes for new or existing products. Performs advanced, complex project management for the development and implementation for all the surface mount and/or through hole PCB assembly processes.


Primary or Major Responsibilities:

SME (Subject Matter Expert) of all PCB manufacturing and electronic assembly processes.
Manage and Supervise complex projects to develop, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency of production. Manage the Engineering teams and projects to improve manufacturing productivity, efficiency, and quality of electronic assemblies.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and applies the tools to improve production quality and decrease manufacturing costs. Ability to set up and complete simple to complex Process DOEs.
Manage and Supervise the purchasing and qualification of Capital equipment for all the manufacturing processes. Oversee the facility and manufacturing layout for optimum flow and assembly processing.
Oversee and manage the implementation of process improvements and requirements for equipment tooling, materials, and methods of manufacturing including make or buy decisions and facility layout, as required for new or revised products from pilots to production.
Lead teams on DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and NPIs (New Product Introductions). Complete Lessons Learned on NPIs and drive solutions to improve manufacturing.
Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering on Customer issues and provide Corrective Actions and Root Cause Analysis of process issues. Process Technical SME contact for Customers.
Ability to read and interpret Customer Assembly Drawings and PCB Gerber files.
Good knowledge of Solder Paste Stencil designs using industry best practices.
Lead and manage technical projects that involve process improvement or development of new processes and drive solutions into production.
Mentor Process Engineering personnel and provide Technical expertise to other Engineering teams.
Lead and manage product specific and site-wide continuous improvement initiatives/activities.
Adhere to the documented quality management system.
Requirements

Due to ITAR regulations you must be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Green Card Holder. We can not provide Visa sponsorships.
This position reports to work onsite - this is not a remote or hybrid position.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related degree with progressive experience in electronics manufacturing or other job-related experience deemed acceptable by the hiring team.
Minimum of 10 years of Electronics manufacturing experience.
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred
Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills driven by attention to detail.
Self-motivated and self-managed.
Additionally, some combination of the experience below may be required:
Experience with lead free materials and technologies
Experience with flex and rigid flex PCB assembly
Experience with high density interconnect technology
Experience with micro-via interconnect technology
Experience with hybrid construction materials
Experience with hand or robotic soldering technology experience with tooling and fixture design
Experience with Epoxies and RTV application and technology
Experience with urethane and acrylic conformal coatings
Experience with manual and automated application of conformal coatings
