Job Description:

Cree currently has a job vacancy for an SMT Operator in our Lighting Manufacturing facility in Racine, Wisconsin.

Location: Racine, WI

Shift: 7AM - 3PM (Monday - Friday)

Full-time w/benefits!

Summary:

This person will be a primary contributor to operating the SMT production line for LED lighting PCB Assembly. This position will be responsible for all aspects of printed circuit board assembly, to ensuring high quality product is delivered for top-level fixture assembly.

A successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver that is able to work around technical obstacles and implement practical solutions. The SMT Operator is a core member of the Operations team and works with that team to realize world class manufacturing systems and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

Startup, set-up, operate, teardown, and shutdown assigned printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) machines
Perform daily and routine maintenance on printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) machines
Communicate with SMT Process Technicians to resolve machine and process related issues
Identify, initiate and implement continuous improvement solutions for process optimization, cost reduction, and yield enhancements
Analyze data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues
Read and correctly interpret printed circuit board documentation
Work to improve productivity while maintaining quality standards
Use and handle small hand tools for the assembly of printed circuit boards efficiently
Use microscope or other magnifying devices as is necessary to complete an assignment
Promptly and accurately complete all forms, reports or documentation required
Communicate clearly and concisely to co-workers to enable the efficient flow of the production line

  

Use your SMT and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) skills to help create and foster world class manufacturing systems and processes, that yield superior LED luminaires.

What you need for success: 

2+ years of experience in printed circuit board assembly
Able to perform Setup, Operation, Changeover, and Shutdown for the following SMT equipment:
Screen Printer
Solder Paste Inspection (SPI)
Pick and Place
Reflow Oven
Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
Conformal Coating
Must be proficient in soldering (soldering skills test will be administered)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple tasks
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with a focused execution of tasks
Strong computer software skills and aptitude to learn new software
Attention to safety, quality, and performance
Self-Starter with sense of self-reliance and sense of urgency
Excellent work ethic with the understanding that excellence is a habit
Ability to identify potential safety and performance issues and eliminate them
