Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Design and prepare clear, complete and accurate production documentation for printed circuit boards (PCBs).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and analyze electrical design schematics and supporting documents to plan layout of PCB components and printed circuitryPerform and understand schematics capture, create and troubleshoot net list and routing rules from customer provided information packages about the designConfer with engineers to resolve design details and problemsPerform placement and routing of PCBs for engineering review using Mentor PADS, Cadence Allegro, Altium and Mentor Expedition Prepare PCB routing layout for engineering review Prepare PCB manufacturing data for use in PCB fabrication Generate accurate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing artwork using Valor and Blueprint PCB

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Computer Science or Engineering) is preferredHigh school diploma or GED is required Previous background in manufacturing is a plus

JOB SKILLS  1-2 years of relevant experience Strong communication skills, both written and oral, as well as listening skillsAbility to collaborate with a team Proficient in MS Office applications Self-motivated, detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.  The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical part and will be required to wear protective clothing such as heel straps and a lab coat on occasion.  The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
