Manufacturer

Great Lakes Engineering has been in business over 23 years. In that time, we've gone through a number of changes. One thing that hasn't changed is a look to the future of thin foil manufacturing: new products, new processes, new markets, and new applications. You can count on us to be there with the next big thing.

Founded in 1986 as Electro-Precision Inc., John M. Carr built the business around his talents as a chemist producing high quality chemically etched surface mount stencils (the only technology available at the time). Along with his sons, John J. Carr, Marty Carr, and Christopher Carr, Electro-Precision capitalized on the market demand for Photo Chemically Machined Parts and incorporated state-of-the-art laser stencil technology. In April 1999, John M. Carr retired. He sold the business to his three sons and Bruce Weaver. In February 2000, Electro-Precision officially changed its name to Great Lakes Engineering to mark a new beginning for the company.
