Universal Genesis 11s nozzle collision even when no nozzle in sp | 29 April, 2023

I have finally got a calibration kit for my single beam multi function Genesis. Calibration finishes successfully, I then attempt to pick a part with the 7 spindle head and it gives me a collision error. The error occurs even when I don't have a nozzle in the spindle, so no collision has occurred. Any ideas on fixes?

Do you have to have at least 1 nozzle on the head? I think the lightning heads you had to have at least 1 nozzle on the head or it would give an error.

I would ensure a nozzle is fitted to spindle 1, UIC genesis, Fuzion etc can be a bit funny with this.

If that checks out ok, I would be ensuring nothing is obstructing the Z travel.

Next would be to ensure the Z motor is at home & again this is working as should, When did it last have maintenance etc was it put back correctly & so on.

Those would be my starting points. UIC are still supporting this machine so you can even send them the debug file if you cant read the MCCu screen etc.

Check pin mirrors and the z touchdown sensors are responding correctly.

Turns out I cleaned the pin mirrors and then did the rest of the PM steps and fixed it... regular PM is important!
