SMTnet's OnBoard Forum to Feature Eyal Duzy
May 7, 2001 8:00 AM EST to May 11, 2001 5:00 PM EST
Eyal Duzy is the Global Product Marketing Manger of Orbotech Assembly Division. Eyal holds a B.Sc. degree in Biophysical Chemistry and a combined MBA / M.Sc. degree majoring in Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Applied Chemistry. Prior to joining Orbotech, Eyal worked for Applied Materials Corporation, where he was responsible for product marketing of AOI and diagnostic tools for the semiconductors industry. Eyal has been granted two patents in the areas of AOI and test techniques.
Topic Summary
3D imaging refers to the acquisition of images from multiple perspectives using, preferably, multiple sources of illumination. It enables the extraction of the 3D properties of each image element in order to enhance classification.
The benefits inherent in 3D AOI for electronics assembly lines are most pronounced at the post-solder inspection stage, which involves classifying solder joints and judging their quality, detecting lifted leads and reporting co-planarity. Doing all this at high-speed without compromising inspection performance is a tough challenge.
Manufacturers need in-line high-speed 3D imaging systems to meet today's and tomorrow's electronic assembly challenges. Eyal looks forward to leading a discussion regarding the benefits of using high speed in-line AOI with 3D imaging.
