SMTnet's OnBoard Forum to Feature Bill Schrieber
Febuary 19, 2001 8:00 AM EST to Febuary 23, 2001 5:00 PM EST
Bill Schreiber is President and founder of Smart Sonic Corporation and has over 18 years experience in industrial cleaning technologies. He introduced 440-R SMT Detergent and developed the first ultrasonic stencil cleaning process in 1990. The Smart Sonic Stencil Cleaning Process and 440-R SMT Detergent is the only Certified Cleaning Technology of the California Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the industrys only cleaning process verified environmentally safe, user safe and effective by the U.S. EPAs Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program. The process has been acknowledged with two SMT Vision Awards, the Canadian High Technology Award and is currently nominated to receive the EPAs Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award.
Topic Description
Stencil cleaning has been identified as the most hazardous process with the greatest potential environmental impact associated with printed circuit board assembly. In addition, it is estimated that over half of all solder defects are the result of screen-printing problems. Particularly when smaller components are required, a less than clean stencil, or a stencil that has been altered by the cleaning process, will increase misprints while decreasing throughput and profitability. Bill looks forward to fielding questions regarding environmental, health, safety and efficacy issues associated with cleaning SMT stencils, misprinted PCBs and related tooling used in the SMT printing process, from Febuary 19th through Febuary 23rd
