I am looking for information regarding SMT coil placement for coils with between 2 and 6 turns. If anyone has any experience with this, I am interested in finding out about the problems that were encountered, what type of placement equipment was suc

HI, We have placed with both Fuji Qp's and Universal Gsm's. We are running a small coil now on a Gsm with a sucessful rate. The Qp done well also, but the product is not ran on a Qp line, so no true production rate has been determined.I don't feel

Anyone placing micro, mini, midi spring inductors (as can be seen on http://www.coilcraft.com) with an FV7100? I can get the little suckers to "test" all day long, but soon as I go into production mode the vision system rejects around 20%. I've tried c

I have a customer want to add an SMD coil to the board, which they used to hand soldering all the time. I want to know is there footprint/land pattern size that I should follow? Any recommendation?

I would go with wire thickness + 0.4 to 0.8 mm for pad width, and pre-tinned lenght + 0.5mm what seems to me like problem is that it can easily roll off the pads in reflow oven

in computing inductance of core i use L = (NxN)x AL value of core. is it the same for coil that has sectoral winding.

We'd probably hand solder these coils with low residue fluxed wire solder, after cleaning.

Don't suppose the coil manufacture could make the coil with the leads coming straight out from the winding on opposite sides and on the same plane. Then it can't roll around. SMT pads may have to be staggered a bit. Just a thought.
