A-620G doesn't require 100% wetting to the thermal pad. It requires 100% wetting to the land in the end-joint area. The end joint is the portion of the solder connection that is at the top [or bottom] of the connection. Look at 7.1.3 Solder Joint A

I presume start by having it just pass into oven as soon as it is given a board from the placement machine. If I find I need to pace the boards into the oven it seems a basic PLC would be needed? Thanks for the help.

Tom, Mount one sensor at about 6 inch inside of the beginning of the oven conveyor and use its output as ready to accept the board signal. That 6 inch distance will give you timing and space between two boards entering in the oven. Tushar
