I'm new on this, what's the standard rate for each placement on passive and active components and how to rate labor cost per hour. thanks in advance

On any new project we use double sided tape and place all the components to check for placement accuracy and polarity prior to pasting a board. We salvage any large/high dollar parts and toss the passives.

Can you share the oven profile? For me it looks like the profile has fast ramp up and short TAL period. How many zones the oven have?

Hi, We are using 10+2 reflow oven ( BTU Pyramax 150 ). We have tried with short TAL ( RTS profile too ). As of Now we are using the attached profile, which has given us lot better results. But the issue is not eliminated. Thanks

Attached is one more profile we have tried with high reflow time. The issue with before and this profile is reduced a lot. But not eliminated.

Hi Sweetoldbob, Thanks. We are using SMQ92J solder paste ( Sn63/Pb37 ). We are on higher side of reflow time for leaded paste. Regards, Ameen

You have some of the 642s still running? This is impressive. I used to have coupe of these 11-12years ago and I used them for exclusively for simple assemblies with passive components bigger size even back then. Even 0402 was challenge for these base

| I am designing a component for surface mount. Does anybody out there specialize in the design of passive components for SMT? Can you recommend a good reference? | Raffi - Many companies have their own specs for parts, but I suggest you check

Hi, If your worried about them being lead free components, because it's "not clear" then you should be able to ask the manufacture of them if they are lead free, as they normally trace the batch code, and manif date and will know for sure. Most pas
