Thanks cleaned it all out. I’m not sure how to check for proper “open” and “close” function. Or how to unlock tool manually.

The lock is manually being able to twist into the lock position and unlock by twisting in the opposite direction. I highly doubt that this is the real problem. First check the rings on the tool to see if they are too worn to hold in the mount head. S
