we had same problems with heavy loaded boards (40 x 10 leg transformer each side) we placed 2 glue dots (Fuji GL)under trafo and played with profile bottom side (thermateh lcv4 - 6 zones, SnPb process) that did the trick

since 1999 we use Heraeus PD944, in time we tested Loctite also but had some issues with it - or with our machine specialist :)) we dispense with Fuji CP (2 , 3 & 4) it only creates problems when its on the solder pads ;-) best wishes

We run a small piece of FR4 with a "thickness test" pattern before production and measure it after with a digital micrometer. Then we save the coupon with the W/O # written on it.

We went with a DEK ELA automated printer and have never been happier. We print down to 16mil (.4mm) with great results. I know this may be beyond your budget but just look for a printer that raises straight off the board with no hinge. James

I must be missing something? If you strip 1/8" off both ends of a 1/4" long wire you would have nothing left? Anyway I would use buss wire and if needed slide a bit of tubing over it bill
