I need some guidance here. I've got a new board w/ a FBGA-48 package, Samsung CMOS SRAM. It's a full matrix BGA w/ 0.30mm-0.40mm ball diameter @ 0.75mm pitch. Balls are eutectic. PCB land diameter is 0.4mm. There are TSOP I 0.5mm lead pitch component

The ENIG process will yield between 3-7 micro inches (110 - 275 microns) of gold over the nickel barrier. This thickness range is pretty much the limit as this is a self limiting displacement reaction process. Once all surface nickel ions are repl

Wait, wait, wait ... I'm not completely sure what a line tech does, but I was his / her boss, I would not be happy if the first thing my new line tech [or any other employee] did was to suggest that I go out and spend BIG $$$ [especially before he /

Frank, I am not talking about the masking on the PCB. I am actually talking about the masking on the solder side of the BGA. We have a very very high dollar BGA and are trying to reclaim alot for reuse. When we remove the BGA from the assembly, you

Interesting...the very reason we use water soluble paste on some of our boards is for that reason, although I've never been able to get anyone to show me something in print that supports it. It's just what engineering has told me. We currently have

We have tried to adjust the upper and lower heaters. We have a dillema in this area however. The power supply portion of the assembly has thermal vias in the solder pads underneath larger pads. We have a problem with solder wicking through these h
