Does anybody Know of a U.K. vendor who can supply Multilayer boards of up to 14+ layers at track and gap sizes of 0.003"? Even European vendors would be good. Curently we have to go to the states for this level of board and it is throwing our commit

removing solder from a 0.015" hole

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 26 18:48:01 EST 2003 | kennyg

I'm trying to solder a 0.011" lead into a 0.015" +/-0.003" hole. Stop laughing please. This is normally possible with difficulty, except if the lead is removed and the attempt is made to re-install a lead. Anyone have thoughts on how to remove nea

Thank you, both for the replies gives me some good ideas. By the way Dave I could shoot that old arm system within 0.003 plenty good enough for 1206 and 50mil pitch. Thanks again, Travis

A concern about conformal coating height

The coating thickness is more a property of the individual coating itself. The 0.03 - 0.13 is based on average properties of acrylics in general. It's like trying to pour 3 mils of motor oil on a table. The material will find it's own thickness.

Larry, Our specification is 0.075% for our Fuji CP3 and IP2 machines. At or above that figure the Maintenance Dept. has to get to work. We typically see 0.03% to 0.05% on average. The Fuji machines are all vision centering. We have found feeders are

SMT Tape Tolerance

We have a product which is supplied on 8mm tape. One customer recently commented that their SMT equipment couldn't handle the part as the tape was measuring 8.5 mm. Our actual measurements of this tape were 8.33 and 8.36 mm. I believe the max dime

PCB finish for compression mount connectors (LGA's)

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 19 21:23:39 EST 2006 | davef

We'd suggest using your connector supplier recommendations. Some use: * Pad Plating: 20-30 uin Au over 50 uin Ni (You might get away with less gold) * In-Pad Vias: less than half the diameter of the button (for contact-only configurations) * PCB/C

washing miss-printed boards

Hi Diego, Yes, we use a low tack Polyethylene tape, 300mm wide in reels of 250m. It's about 75 micrometers/ 0.075mm / 0.003", although we are looking at going down to about 0.06. Not all boards go through SPI, some just go through 2D - depends on

Aluminum wire bonding

Electronics Forum | Sun May 26 10:21:46 EDT 2002 | V.RAMANAND KINI

We buy PCBs for aluminium wire bonding. Our PCBs have 0.25 mm square pads for bonding and 0.10 or 0.15 mm gap between circuit traces/tracks. We do not have any problem. Our vendor gives 9 microns of Nickel and 0.03 microns of gold.
