Go with no greater than 0.005". Pleanty of paste and minimal shorting issues. 0.004" will even work

We are using semi-circular land pattern and 0.004" smaller appertures on screen. With stable rising slope (max:2.6degC/sec)we have not experienced any tombstonning so far.

Hi Dave, Yes that is correct. I had a XRF carried out on some boards that I am having solderability issues on and the report came back with 0.04um - 0.05um as the measured gold thickness. Previous batches that went through fine measured 0.07-0.11u

If you failed math like I did. A 0.005 inch stencil would work fine for those parts. Most stencils are 0.004in for fine pitch 1005s 201s. 0.005in is probably the most common generic stencil. 0.006in generally is if you need extra solder for big parts
