Is test vias a good idea??

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 31 08:30:41 EST 2005 | davef

Yes, probing via is perfectly acceptable. Via: * Pad diameter is 0.028 inch * Via pitch minimum is 0.50 inch ... all of which is fairly common, even when probing test pads. [Your English is fine, at least as good a half the English speakers here.]

A suggestion for your stencil which works is as follows. Cut your stencil aperatures beyond your pads to a length of 0.1mm , this then allows the paste to pull back into the pad creating a blob of solder which can be inspected by AOI.Best length and

Wave Soldering 0.050 pitch connector

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 25 13:42:32 EDT 2000 | Chris McDonald

I was wondering IF anybody has has success wave soldering a 50 (2 rows of 25) pin 0.050" pitch thru-hole connector. I seem to be getting alot of bridging no matter what I do. Is there a design spec for the size and shape of pads? The pads on the pcb

Re: fine pitch on thick copper

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 21 16:47:15 EST 1999 | GERARDIN

Hello Pascal As mentioned by Wolfgang the key issue is the printing process capability. For a thick copper level 90m we noticed that the pad reduction can be greater than 20% depending on supplier sources. Typicaly for a cad Width = 0.4 we can

Hi, I just cheesed my previous attempt at this. I looked through IPC 600 and couldn't find anything relating to dimensional stability of a board with regard to stretch. I found bow and twist but nothing on size. I have a PCB that is .030"

Re: solder thief guidelines

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 04 12:32:13 EDT 1998 | Bob Willis

The design rules for solder thiefs are that the extra pads must be bigger than the proceeding pads to be worth while as a minimum guide the pad is 3x the size of the proceeding pad so if the pad is 0.030" the thief would be 0.090" wide. As steve has
